Fashion trend forecasters predict what’s next — what colors, fabrics and styles consumers will be wearing a year from now. Such information is valuable to the people working in the fashion industry. It’s the business of betting on what consumers will spend their money. To predict means having a vision after detailed research in the creative fields: art, design, furniture, fashion. Trend forecast is a way to predict what costumers will dream of having through the lens of a cool hunter. Students will learn to observe, catch, connect, and predict: this is trend forecasting.
Objectives
Students will learn and implement the observation, research and analysis techniques related to cool hunting specifically focusing on Milan as a research hub for emerging tendencies and trends.
Who’s the course addressed to?
Students with an appropriate background of studies and interests related to marketing and communication; recent graduates or those with some related industry experience.
Methodology
The course will comprise of lectures, group discussions, critiques, research work in the city, and in class project development.
