ITALIAN DESIGN SCHOOL IN MILAN
ITALIAN DESIGN
The role of a designer, who is able to determine the look, style and functionality of products, is of primary importance in today's world. Designers are increasingly being given the task of solving complex problems ranging from studying products and manufacturing processes, to developing efficient strategies to identify niches in the market which might interest a company's resources and image. Unlike the early sixties, when it was still possible to rely on one’s personal insight and inspiration, nowadays a designer has to have a more structured and experienced professional approach. NABA insists in building an all-around designers, so once they are out in the market, they will be able to take on any job or challenge.
NABA - ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS
NABA is located nearby at Via Darwin 20 within the historical "Navigli" area of Milan, one of the loveliest and liveliness districts of the city. The premises are inside a late nineteenth century industrial complex that has recently been refurbished and has considerable architectural value.
NABA Design was formed as a school that puts equal emphasis on experimentation and the acquisition of professional skills and tools. The school benefits from a strong academic profile owing to the interaction between the schools of visual arts, design, fashion and textile design, theatre design, graphic design and art direction and media design, which share the same campus. This combination of disciplines renders the approach to design truly cross-disciplinary, challenging and non-specialist. We believe that training future designers means to prepare the young to listen and observe with an open and curious mind, to develop personal knowledge, and use it to further understand their own disciplinary training, and be enquiring about the world in order to offer solutions that are, above all, visions for a different and more aware future.
