COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course is aimed at students with an initial understanding and experience of visual communication with the intention to enhance advancement in the prior knowledge and skill set.
Students will work with work with following topics; graphics (identity, branding), illustration (techniques) and typography. In parallel the students will be supported with contemporary and classic knowledge on the graphic medium.
The course provides the creative, conceptual and narrative skills necessary to integrate content for the production of an evocative design.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The urban environment of Milan will serve as the backdrop and stimulation for the students to examine the graphic forms found in a city.
Students will develop visual vocabulary to describe, generate, and evaluate the urban environment of Milan from a conceptual and visual point of view divided in to the three following phases; observation, concept, project.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of a Graphic Introduction Course or similar.
The ability to use basic Photoshop and Illustrator (or similar applications) is strongly recommended.

OUTPUT

To develop a manifest in the form of a poster using the physical shapes of Milan to communicate verbally and visually the essence that convey.
